“The process of making art is a partnership between the medium being used and the mind designing the art. My own work uses flat acrylic sheets laser cut into shapes held together by nuts and bolts and also works made entirely of paper but all designed so that everyone can build in their mind's eye an interpretation shaped by the art design. Although the artist makes the art in collaboration with the medium, the viewer of the art creates anew their own interpretation. The artist is a retired scientist whose works are influenced by the way that nature and especially its mathematical underpinnings create our understanding of how the world and its beauty is influenced by the basic structural elements upon which the universe is made.”
