Yellow

by Veronica Rose Snead

Veronica Rose Snead is an abstract painter disciplined in color and the exploration of the dot. Her body of paintings began an experiments in color theory and practices of intuition, however they became something much bigger than just the love of color. The dots can be perceived as inconsequential specks, but in groups they become forms and atmosphere outside of the bounds of our physical world. Her work is greatly inspired by philosophy literature such as Simone Weil, who believed that worshipping a cause beyond ones self is the path to spiritual enlightenment. Through a highly regimented practice, Veronica is driven by the beauty of mystery and what will be. Inevitability can only be dictated so much, and relinquishing one's self of that burden allows the spirit to flow, so the work comes into existence effortlessly.
