“I’m a self-taught painter from the Pacific Northwest working in oil on canvas layered with oil pastel. My practice is rooted in representational figuration: oil builds presence and solidity, while pastel interrupts or exposes what resists containment. This dialogue reflects my interest in memory, vulnerability, and identity. I’m drawn to subjects that reveal tension—tenderness alongside defiance, humor with loss, beauty tangled with imperfection. At its core, my practice records shifting personal and cultural layers that insist on persistence, presence, and complexity.”
