The Wait in Hope
by Deanna Ansaldo
“This piece is a part of my "faith series". We all have encountered moments in our lives where we need to "take a chance" or "a leap of faith". But what does that really mean? Metaphorically I explore these concepts. Taking a chance requires humility, being "on our knees" and giving everything we have, despite the chaos that might surround us. When taking a chance, we need to have faith- there are many unknown things in the future, sometimes its like being suspended in the air, letting something new guide our hopes. Finally, less thrilling, are the seasons in-between taking chances, where our faith is tested.. the waiting season. To wait for things like the results of a medical test or decision of someone you love; it is not an easy season to endure. Often we go through it feeling blindfolded. I came to the conclusion that the heaviest part of Hope, is the 'wait'... and the lightest part of waiting? is Hope. Having something solid to rest on is crucial for getting through such difficult periods of time. In each piece our attention is pulled toward the light... within us, extending from us & guiding us.”
