Stride

by Ehigbai Ozoya

“I am an Experimental Fine Artist based in Nigeria, Sculptor by educational training. My art is inspired by everyday living, the less-appreciated aesthetic aspects of life. My work speaks of tolerance and gives voice to the crying undertone of the general circumstances and struggles faced in living, drawing on the imaginative power of the viewer. I work with varieties of WIRE'S to form random scribbles interconnecting to build gestural sculpture. This series features semi realistic spatial pieces, as every fold creates a form, every line holds a story interconnected to form a whole. My sculptures can be best described in two dimensions as gestural drawing, with less by-product, simply weaved, executing a seamless and more eco friendly way of creating sculptures. The emphasis of my works is on lines, interwoven and interacting with each other to execute forms. My personal goal is to keep learning, creating and refining my works. I hope to make the world a better place by allowing viewers to appreciate ethics and aesthetics, challenging their minds to go deep into the critical thinking of life, culture, and existence.”
