“My work is a visualization of how I think. I am drawn to repetition, something that brings a sense of comfort to me, as well as inspiration from the past to create my art. I use acrylic paintings, handmade garments and/or fiber pieces and provocative phrases to express my thoughts, my feelings, my mental health, everything that works it’s way through my mind. My artwork shows how things get connected, how I sort them out, and how I try to cope with and understand it all. I want my work to be used in a similar way. I want people to think and question themselves and society. I want them to do a true internal examination, like how I do when creating these pieces. My hope is my work will, in some way, help the viewer further understand some aspect of their lives.”
