Hum
by Daniel Atyim
Hum is a field of quiet vibration. Repeated circular forms create a shifting structure that moves between cohesion and fragmentation. From a distance, the image reads as a unified atmosphere; up close, it dissolves into discrete reflective elements that respond to light and movement. The aluminum tape acts as a fractured mirror—reflecting, diffusing, and interrupting vision. These small interruptions generate a visual “hum,” a low-frequency presence that parallels the conditions of being human: bodily awareness, memory, and the underlying tension of mortality.
