Heart Led

“I am an intuitive mixed-media Artist that explores the space before identity. Before the labels, roles and conditions that accumulate over a life of layered storms and complex experiences. Drawing from dreams, psychological archetypes and art as self-discovery, I create paintings, body art and mixed media works embedded with living materials: herbs, spices, flowers, seeds. Each piece is a fragment of an evolving mythic transformation, a shedding back toward what I am rather than who I have been told to be. My works serve as portals. Not to be intellectually understood but viscerally felt. When someone views my work they are being invited into a new mode of perceiving. There's an invitation for a momentary pause of recognition, a dissolving of preconceived conditioning. A conversation that predates language. When I create it becomes ritual, ceremonious. My materials mainly consist of donated, recycled and found objects, already transformed by living. Living art. Like the work itself, nothing starts from scratch. Everything is a resurrection. I create for those in the in-between. The crossing between states of being. Not who they used to be. Not yet who they're becoming. I create for everyone who has survived the threshold home to themselves. My art isn't just seen, it looks back.”
