Going Underground; The Hood

by Brigitte B. Burckhardt

“These two photographs were taken on the same day. That day it was overcast then rainy,in the city.I decided to shoot BnW to work with contrast, form, texture and the timeless feel you get with this choice.

I took the first photograph as I was going down some stairs to catch the Tube.I looked up and saw this man who was about to take his first step to go Underground.A got the shot at the right moment.Candidly as always.

‘The Hood’ was taken while it was pouring rain.I had found shelter behind a glass wall.He kept on walking, determined, his head covered with the hood.”
