Elena

“Some points about me and my work from the Bodyscapes series: 1. At home, my safe childhood place was my bed. 2. Of all the varied landscapes where home has been, mountains top the list. 3. My favorite art school course was Color taught by a student of Josef Albers. 4. Skies filled with moving clouds move me. 5. I'm crazy about stripes because they define form. 6. “Bodyscapes” keeps developing as my visual interests evolve. 7. In traditional paintings, cloth is primarily a backdrop or decorative element in interior settings. Instead, I bring cloth to the foreground as part of a metaphoric landscape of hills, valleys, and sky.”
