Bent Not Broken

“In my last two years of college I developed an overwhelming passion for screen printing. But then I graduated, started my career in graphic design, and didn’t pick up another squeegee for 42 years. Upon retiring, I decided to pickup my squeegee again to see if I still felt that passion. The process was just as amazing as I remembered. And, unlike everything else between then and now, very little about it had changed. What most excites me about screen printing is its visual impact. My art tends to be graphic, in both style and message. And political. During my college years Ronald Reagan was president. I was not a fan, and it felt powerful to express my opinions. Our current political climate makes the Reagan years seem rather charming, and I feel an even a greater need to express my frustration. So, while I'm daily shocked at what our country has become, driven by a narcissistic racist wannabe dictator, my art allows me to maintain just the tiniest bit of sanity. For that I am grateful.”
