“My artistic journey is deeply rooted in the traditions of the Mexican and Native American cultures which are a part of me and have inspired me since my childhood. These influences serve as the foundation of my creative expression. In my practice, I specialize in acrylic painting and the repurposing of rescued three dimensional wooden animals. My work serves as an ode to sustainability and the transformative power of art. In my practice, I rescue abandoned animals from resale shops, thrift stores, garages, and wherever else. These forgotten figures find new life in my studio, as I re-imagine them with colors and patterns drawn from various, also forgotten, artistic traditions. My goal is to create art that not only touches the soul causing viewers to pause, but also contributes to the health of our Planet and most importantly, pays tribute to often-overlooked global art and design traditions.”
