Below the Moon

by Carl Yonder

“I create immersive mixed-media artwork that invites viewers to become storytellers in their own right. Rooted in the belief that art should be accessible, expansive, and emotionally resonant, my work blends traditional techniques with digital innovation to create layered visual experiences. Each piece is crafted to spark imagination, reflection, and dialogue, serving not as a finished narrative, but as an open field for personal interpretation. Rather than conveying a fixed message, I see my role as offering a visual framework, images that emerge from my own subconscious and spiritual explorations. What happens next belongs to the viewer. I invite people to sit with the work, feel into what they’re seeing, and trust their own emotional and intuitive responses. In this way, each person becomes a storyteller, uncovering meaning that is uniquely their own. As a private person, I resist the urge to over-explain or define the meaning behind my work. I believe that doing so risks limiting the very expansiveness I hope to create. My intention is not to make something you either “get” or don’t, but something you can return to, again and again, and find something new each time.”
