Marble #01 Indigo
by Tinmin Fong
“As a mixed-media artist, I, Tinmin, utilize a lint roller to extract and manipulate fibers, transforming them into vibrant, textured compositions on paper. By repurposing materials from vintage garments, I create abstract imagery rich in color and depth, reflecting on the past and giving new life to what was once forgotten. My artistic vision is inspired by personal experiences, nature, and contemporary social issues, inviting viewers to engage in reflection and interpretation. With a background in architecture and influences from minimalist artists like Donald Judd and Agnes Martin, I challenge traditional practices through meticulous blending and layering techniques. Based in New York, I strive to expand abstract expression by exploring new methods that foster deep connections with viewers. My work serves as an invitation for contemplation, encouraging dialogue about identity and the human experience while celebrating the transformative power of art.”
