Learning to Swim
by Hailey McGuire
“Hailey McGuire's work is deeply rooted in themes of trauma, human experience, emotion, and spirituality. She believes that these concepts are intimately interconnected, and that by exploring them through art, she can create a space for reflection and healing. One of the ways in which Hailey explores these themes is through the use of found materials and sculptural elements. By incorporating three-dimensional objects into her work, she is able to create a sense of depth and texture that invites the viewer to engage with the work on a physical level. These sculptural elements serve as a metaphor for the complexities of human experience, representing the ways in which our lives are shaped by both external forces and our own internal struggles. At the same time, Hailey’s approach to painting is intentionally inconsistent and ever-changing. Rather than adhering to a particular style or technique, she allows her work to evolve and change over time”
