Up Up Up

by Lane Lee

Lane Lee is an artist whose work explores ideas of cultural and bodily memory. Her art focuses on disability and the human body. Due to her family’s exposure to famine in North Korea and war, she—like many others—developed a severe seizure disorder. Despite this, she uses painting as a way to stabilize her brain pre- and post-seizure through the unique side effects impacting her physical, neurological abilities to process color, motion, and space.
