Tea

“My sculptural practice brings internal, often unspoken experiences into physical form. These are things we know by heart. We feel them long before we have names for them. “Tea” is inspired by the afternoons spent with too many girls gathered in too small a space - a bedroom, a bathroom, a booth at brunch - when the latest gossip is being shared. Tongues overlap in the same way sentences do. Everyone is talking at once, every word an important contribution to the intertwining web. This is a space where connection is identified, where a sense of closeness is gained between acquaintances and close friends alike. I created this piece to honor that.”
