“SO I WAS LIKE…. plays with the current (and way overused) idiom ‘like’, a seemingly meaningless word that serves several purposes. It is a buffer and provides a pause before committing to a particular feeling. It mitigates the adjective about to be used. And finally, it is a reticence to state something with clarity. The adjective in each piece of SO I WAS LIKE…. is portrayed, both in font and background, in such a way as to illuminate the emotion and state of mind involved. And the adjectives themselves were chosen because the words themselves are intrinsically beautiful, and often have meanings both literal and figurative.”
