River Reflections

“My work is an exploration of the human experience through glimpses of how the natural environment and built environment interact with one another. Themes focus on intentional juxtapositions, the passage of time, and savoring the small moments as a common thread. Inspired by the way emotion weaves through natural and built landscapes and ties our humanness together, I aim to explore moments of natural synergy that strip down bias and unify. In my process I study the environment of my city and pull out small glimmers. The light dancing across a river, the passing of a cloud across the sun, a discarded piece of trash all get a second chance at meaning, a passing moment painted into forever. I create to better understand the world around me, to reassign meaning and add perspective to an otherwise mundane passage of time.”
