"Pestoso Mugroso" explores how icons and placements of jewelry objects can signal messages of Queerness. Septum jewelry is a shared visual indicator of Queerness, many forms of body modifications and chosen adornments function to disrupt hetero-patriarchal ideals and assert said Queerness. This piece of adornment functions as self- affirmation, flagging, and empowerment of the wearer. The title serves to humorously accept and display the prodding negativity that surrounds queer people. Translated the title is "Stinky Filthy"; the title, color pallete, and form is meant to draw attention to the rejection and disgust Queer people face daily.
