“My work explores the space between representation and interpretation, blending influences from photorealism, impressionism, and increasingly abstract approaches. I began as a landscape painter, drawn to nature’s ability to offer refuge by bringing outdoor environments into interior spaces as sources of comfort and escape. Early training in photorealism shaped my commitment to careful observation, while my love of impressionist painters emphasized light, color, and emotional resonance over strict realism. As my practice evolves, abstract elements allow for greater symbolism and reflection. Informed by my work as a PhD-level ethicist, I believe artists have a responsibility to engage truth and justice while offering a compelling vision of the future. My goal is to create paintings that are visually uplifting yet meaningful—works that invite contemplation, emotional connection, and hope.”
