“Han naH is a 16mm film, and it is part of my recent body of work, Perception is a Fold in the Flesh of the World. The work explores the dialectics of relationships and the limitations of spoken and written language. It draws on personal and embodied experiences, including swimming during a period of depression, living with dyslexia, and the logic of Boustrophedon, a style of writing in which alternate lines are reversed and mirrored. This mirrored structure, derived from the Greek for “as the ox turns while plowing,” informs my thinking about physical, conceptual, and perceptual folds. The act of folding creates proximity across distance and forges connections. Folding becomes a form of “languaging” that transcends spoken and written words.”
