Framed

by Anna Archinger

“This work is part of a four-image series titled 'Framed,' all monochromatic pictures that play on the contrast of a black-haired horse and a white-haired one. Captured on a neutral gray background, the two horses' movements put them in a harmonious dialogue and symbolic negotiation. What is really 'Framed' in this stance is the relationship between two horses whose complementary hair colors convey the sense of trust and harmony between the two equines. Each subject, moving closer or distancing themselves from the camera, becomes either a subject or an object whose 'topography' invites the viewer to join visual explorations and reflection.”
