“As a student photographer, I use the act of photographing as a way to study how meaning emerges in everyday life. I focus on photographing moments that exist in between intentionality and pure coincidence; whether that be in overlooked spaces, subtle gestures, or the emotional traces left behind in ordinary environments. My work is shaped by mostly intuition and attentiveness to a moment rather than strict adherence to traditional photography “rules”. I often photograph while quietly moving slowly through a space, because I feel that this allows moments to unfold naturally. This approach really explores my interest in how authenticity develops when control is loosened and the photographer becomes more in tune with their surroundings. In response to the accelerated pace of our contemporary lives,I aim for my photographs to encourage a slower observation. I aim to create images that feel intimate and familiar by elevating the mundane. My work functions as both documentation and personal archive, which marks my ongoing development as a student and my evolving relationship with photography as a tool for observation, reflection, and understanding.”
