Blue Like The Sky

by Susan Tait

“In a time where only one form of human is alleged to be correct, I look for ways to show that what matters is not superficial. I want to look at things taken for granted, people ignored, conditions tolerated. For the ones who walk away from Omelas, I’ll draw maps from nature, from your gravitas, from the things we can’t say, don’t think to say, because they’re not visible. Make them visible. That’s my mission, my creative compulsion, my love. Anyone who learned to write cursive has the ability to draw. I want to inspire you to see for yourself in a way that shows things to the people who are looking for you, for me, for us.”
