“My paintings move within a dual space—between figuration and pure color—where the legacy of classical painting encounters the language of modern painting, and the two simply coexist. As an Iranian artist, my central concern is understanding the historicity of painting and finding a way to connect my personal practice with the broader global currents of painting. The figure—referencing the body and narrative—stands alongside expanses of color that possess a purely abstract, self-sufficient presence. In this interaction, the figure is freed from the constraints of direct narration, and color is released from its merely subordinate role. My aim is to create a visual language that, while rooted in the history of painting, can also articulate something new—where every brushstroke is both an homage to the past and a small step toward the future. This effort is a search for a sincere and respectful position within the global discourse of painting.”
