Two

by Teresa Castaneda

“I am a multidisciplinary artist working, exhibiting, selling, and teaching; drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, jewelry/lapidary, printmaking, and assemblage art installations. I have participated in over 150 exhibitions, included in over 15 publications, and recognized twice by the National Endowment for the Arts. Once through the Colorado Council of the Arts for my invention in printmaking. Then again, during the NEA 50th Anniversary, when they posted my work on their website, "ReArranging Denver," my zero waste organization's positive impact on my community. My recent invention in printmaking came out of death mask commissions, where an insufficient pour was unsuccessful sculpturally gave me the ideal do again in other face molds to create a raised surface to use as a plate for printing. The prints are monochromatic to allow the time of day or ambient lighting to change their values and colors. I also extended the invention to the sight-impaired community for "picture day".”
