Our Time Together

by Stephen Born

“My passion for photography began as a young child. Using my grandfather’s Argus camera, I would document elaborate battlefield scenes of my plastic toy soldiers and Tonka trucks in my backyard. That childlike fascination continues to this day. The images depicted here are from a photographic essay entitled “A Tale of Two Lakes.” This project documents an urban lake near my Minneapolis home and a rustic lake in northern Minnesota. Combining the written word with photography, my objective is to inspire viewers to take notice of their daily routines and surroundings in a new way and find the “extraordinary in the everyday ordinary.”
