“I am a painter inspired by the environments around me. The observation of nature has been a daily practice of awareness for me for as long as I can remember. Many of my images that I translate to a substrate are based on my experiences which I consider as a communion with the sublime. Most of my work is based in oil, but I also like to experiment with combinations of many mediums, including iridescent and acrylic inks, and cold wax. Not only content on conveying a sense of place to the viewer, but I am creating what I hope, is an attempt to connect one with the beauty of the everyday. To experience the quiet, and to evoke healing. I am very concerned with our environment, but more specifically with our relationship with the environment. If upon viewing my work, there is a sense of awe noted by observer, a desire to be a witness to natural phenomena, a moment for a pause, then I have done my job as an artist who loves this earth so much.”
