Muses

by Anna Elizabeth Falk

An incoming senior at the Savannah College of Art and Design and Philadelphia native, Anna Falk is a two-dimensional visual artist working primarily with water- and oil-based media, creating figurative paintings that explore abstraction within the human form. Her work investigates the complexities of femininity, form, and the distortion of memory, aiming to reflect the dualities of womanhood; the inherent beauty and the pain, subconscious shield of strength to hide shifting vulnerabilities. Figures often emerge and dissolve throughout these illustrative pieces, echoing the ways in which memory morphs and withers over time. Falk's atmospheric application invites viewers into a space that feels both familiar and foreign.
