Morgan Tanner
Morgan Tanner is a mixed media painter whose work explores femininity, identity, and transformation through bold color, layered textures, and recurring motifs of lips—symbols of self-expression and speaking truth.
Creativity was always woven into Tanner’s life. Though not raised in an overtly artistic household, her parents encouraged imagination, curiosity, and hands-on making. A pivotal turning point came in fifth grade, when a music teacher noticed the care she put into shading and perspective during a simple quiz illustration. That teacher recommended Tanner for a gifted art program, opening the door to formal training that would forever change her trajectory. Years later, she pursued intensive study at the Milan Art Institute, where she refined her skills and found her voice.
Tanner works primarily in acrylic and mixed media finished with oil on canvas, often incorporating paper, digital, and mural elements. Her process is intuitive and improvisational—what she calls a “call and response” with the canvas. Music is ever-present in her studio, guiding her energy and flow. She describes her art as an act of surrender, allowing honesty and imperfection to shine through: “Light doesn’t only shine through perfection—it breaks through the cracks. It dances in the flaws.”
Her work carries a central message: You are a masterpiece—created with purpose, filled with light, and meant to shine boldly in the world. She hopes her paintings empower viewers to reclaim their voices and reconnect with their God-given identity.
Tanner’s creative journey has been deeply shaped by personal loss and transformation. After losing her mother at twenty, she remembers silencing her own desire to deliver the eulogy. That experience became a defining moment—fueling her art as a declaration to never again stay quiet when her voice matters.
Looking ahead, Tanner aspires to expand into workshops that help others express their testimonies through art, create more large-scale public works, and grow her collector base internationally. Rooted in authenticity rather than trends, her paintings invite audiences into spaces of empowerment, honesty, and faith.
